You can multiply your marketing efforts 100 fold by working a little smart. Some may consider this a little off-white hat but I assure you that it is not. This is a purely legit social media marketing method of increasing your productivity.
As you know most social media bookmarking sites allow 1 account per person/business - well I have several businesses and so do you. You have websites in several different niches maybe even using several different pen names. This means you have several businesses.
So with this example here I am going to assume 5 businesses is what you have.
First to start of with we are going to create 5 accounts at Delicious (http://www.delicious.com/) and with those 5 accounts we will start to bookmark our sites, client sites, and other sites. Starting with account 1 you will login setup you profile and add all info such as pic, website url, and etc.
When you account profile is fully filled in then you are going to go and do some bookmarking on your site (this should be for 1 niche site), your clients sites, and some news worthy sites.
Start off with only bookmarking maybe 2 url's right now and then maybe a few hours later do a few more. Try to keep it where you do not bookmark more than 3 or 4 urls per day. Mix and Match these and do not just bookmark only your sites. Make sure you also bookmark some news site, kids site, video site or something... It does not have to be related, just as long as it is not your site.
Do the above with all 5 accounts and vary your times, do not bookmark in one account and then logout and login another right away. Take your time, this is not a race..lol You want to make sure you have varied times on your bookmarks with these accounts as it looks more natural.
Once you have about 50 bookmarks on each account (which should take you about a week or maybe 2 weeks) then you want to go to the setting in Delicious (http://www.delicious.com/) that allows you to export. You want to create a folder on your hard drive and export all 5 accounts - naming them per website / niche so you know which are which.
Now you want to go to other sites such as mister-wong.com, faves.com, blinklist.com and etc. Almost every bookmarking site (minus scuttle and phpdug) allows you to import your bookmarks. So you are going to create 5 accounts at each of these sites and fill out your profile and import your bookmarks.
While you are logged in make sure you do a bookmark or 2 so not all accounts at each site will have the same exact bookmarks. Take about a week or so to do this, again you are not in a race but you obviously do want to save time and money.
If you have registered for 50 social media bookmarking sites x 5 accounts each that is 250 accounts x 50 bookmarks each and that comes out to 12,500 bookmarks and backlinks you have now. Normally this would take months for many to do manually without the import or cost you an arm and a leg to have VA's do this.
So by following this you just saved months of work and/or $100's if not $1,000's.. This is a great short cut to use and remember while you are in each account create a spreadsheet for yourself noting your user history page (the page that shows all your bookmarks) and your Rss feed.
