There are many that just want to go and setup profiles at social media sites for the sole purpose of adding links and getting those backlinks as marketers call them. There certainly are better ways to do social media marketing that does not include spamming of social sites.

Simply put this is straight forward and the basics with no marketing fluff and nonsense. These steps are very easy and simple to follow and to be honest it only takes a few minutes a day at each site. If you do not have the time to spend a few minutes at a site then don't bother creating a profile.

Step 1

Create a few social media profiles, I suggest no more then 6 or 7 unless you can log more than that every day. Below are a few sites you can use to get started. There is no specific sites to join, just join the ones you like and best fit your needs.

http://www.multiply.com
http://www.livejournal.com
http://www.blogster.com
http://www.experienceproject.com
http://www.hi5.com
http://www.bebo.com
http://www.facebook.com

Step 2

Fill out your profile with information and set all your account settings including any privacy that you may want to use. Browse around the settings and the profile options and set everything up.

Step 3

Make a few friends request. This means that everyday or every few days you will look for related profiles that interest you and make a friends request. You should not make more than 5 or so friends request a day.

Step 4

Add content to your profile by using the blog feature that these sites provide. You do not have to add full length articles. You could add half articles (a few paragraphs) and then link to the full article on your site or on Marketers Domination.

Example:

Add 1 or 2 half articles every day, make sure you do not add more. This is about supplying constant fresh content and not about spamming the site with junk.

Step 5

Build a few backlinks to your content, do not go crazy and do 100 bookmarks because you are not trying to build up these social media sites. Maybe do a few bookmarks and a tweet on your post every day.

Step 6

Repeat steps 3 - 5 every day by spending a few minutes on each site.

That's all there is to using your social media profiles. When you get a few friends make sure to take some time and make some comments on their post and ask them to do the same to yours. If you follow this simple plan then in a few months your social profiles will start to help increase the rankings on your own site.

If possible you want to use the same name at all your social profile sites. It is not a bad idea to use a keyword if possible also. Anything with recipes in it will do such as DonnasRecipes.

That is an excellent plan. Thanks for sharing. By being consistent to that plan, an online marketer will not only avoid spamming social sites, but will also be able to get better site rankings.
